Gloomy weather..

The country side still looks as beautiful as ever even when it is gloomy out…

Countryside

Today is the day i start with my university work, well supposedly. I completed my first two hours and lost motivation, it’s hard to get the ball rolling again after January exams. So I decided to go for a walk to take a break as I hadn’t been on one today. I pop on my wellies and of we go, I forget how lucky I am to be surrounded by such beauty the minute I leave my door step, so I thought I’d share some photos of my afternoon Sunday stroll with you.

Now it’s time for me to get back to university work..

Florence

As my blog is called ‘Florences Blog’ I thought I ought to explain a little more about the name. My name is Hollie, Hollie Florence. Florence is a name that I am utterly proud to own, and one that I will pass down to my children.

Florence was my late Nana. My fathers mother. Florence really loved the finer things in life, little dachshunds and being a drama queen (exactly where I get it from). She was so proud of me, and always told me. Of course as life takes over, time becomes a blur and before you know it you have hopped into the future, only able to look back at what’s been. And of course I wish I’d have done more and spent more time with her, but I am so privilidged to have beautiful fond memories that I will carry with me through out life.

There are many things that remind me of Nana; like when ever a M&S advert comes on television, hearing the word ‘queen’ (as she was the ‘mother hen’ and our queen), seeing her little dachshund or any other one for that fact, whenever I let my hair go curly, it reminds me of being a child playing and styling Her thick, curly, silky, grey hair. Origami, making nana copy my tiny fingers as I folded paper into different shapes, oh but her laugh. I can sometimes hear it so vividly as well as her slapping her leg in response to her laughter. The main thing that reminds me of her is my dad, I can see so much in him, his looks, his cuteness and gentle nature, his big heart and his need to tell everyone the latest news, just like Nana did…

Florence, my Nana was the first person in my family that I had experienced loosing. That in its self was a journey that really helped me understand the meaning of life a little bit more, as well as a constant reminder of appreciating everyone around me. However, I know that Florence is still with us all and watching over us as our silky, curly haired angel.

May I introduce you to Maggie the Pom.

okay, some people call me crazy as my little Pomeranian is my princess (and I treat her like one too!). So this post is all about her, Maggie.

Maggie is the youngest out of the group, we have Ryden (my cat) who is 15 years old, Buddy my gorgeous mongrel who is 7 and finally Maggie who is one and a half (two in June).

I begged, hinted and plead to be allowed a Pomeranian (for about two years) until my parents decided I could save up and buy one, and that I did. When I saw the Ad for her I fell in love. After speaking to the owner of the pups, four days later my sister and her fiancé drove me to Derby to pick her up. It really was love at first sight. As I held her in my arms and she cuddled into my chest I could feel my heart slowly melting and the smile tearing into my cheeks. We then began our journey back to her new home, the hills in North Wales.

“If only I could have had them all”

Maggie was the only girl, and the darkest In colour.

Once we arrived home, it was time to meet her older brother…. Buddy.

my little ball of fluff soon became in awe of Buddy and followed his every move.

We’d often take Maggie out to Llandudno, where she would receive so much attention and love that it took us hours to get to the end of the prom and back.

“Thirsty work”

Maggie is now all grown up, and no longer a hand sized puppy. However her puppy like behaviour still lives on, along with her massive heart and love for running, food and late night cuddles with mum! She really has helped me through certain life events that have occurred since I’ve had her and truly is my  gem. I don’t care what anyone says, dogs are massive parts of the family and should be treated with love and affection. Oh and here are some more pictures 😉..

this photo always makes laugh.

9 miles dome and dusted!

her favourite place – my bed!

There you have it, my Pom; Maggie.

 good night 🌛⭐️

My first post

So, I have decided to start a blog. Not entirely sure why, just a place to put up my pictures and thoughts, hopefully something that I can reflect back on too see what I have achieved, done and where I have explored in this very large world in which we live in.

Walk up the reservoir this morning. 💖

Walk up the reservoir this morning.💖

My first picture I am uploading is where I can go to find peace, all there is too hear is the water trickling and the pitter patter of my dogs running around my feet. This is where time escapes me and the views (on a clear day) still takes my breath away. I love it. And so do my family and friends. So no matter who I am with, whether it is just myself or my best friend, this place calms me down and sets me straight.
